Principal Investigator
A principal investigator is tasked with managing and overseeing clinical research trials. A qualified PI must hold the relevant medical license and sub-specialty, depending on the requirements of the research site. A PI's duties may include:
- Lead study team, ensuring trials are conducted safely and per protocol
- Conduct clinical intake interviews to determine medical eligibility of potential study participants
- Educate potential participants about diseases and the benefits of clinical trial participation
- Manage the safety of study participants; respond appropriately to adverse events in a timely manner
- Attend investigational meetings for new clinical trials and scientific conferences
- Provide medical leadership to our team of psychologists and study coordinators
Job Requirements:
- A valid medical license to practice in the state of employment (or license-eligible)
- Board certification in the necessary specialty (if required)
- Experience working in a clinical research setting
- Prior clinical research experience, as a PI or Sub-I
Most PI roles require at least some in-person requirement, but may allow for partial remote or hybrid work, depending on employer.
